When spring comes, so does the urge to go out and explore nature. Living in Buda, you do not see much but Stagecoach Park. Lucky for us, only 30-40 min away are endless trails. From Mount Bonnell and the Barton Creek Greenbelt, to Mckinney Falls state park, you will find yourself amazed by how many gorgeous areas you can find in Austin. So lace up your sneakers and get ready to venture off into nature.

The first, and top on my list is Barton Creek Greenbelt. Spanning 12 miles, this trail includes some rocky areas to walk and explore, but also some flat areas to bike. As soon as it gets warm you can also head to the few small waterfalls and shallow areas for kids and dogs to play. Being located close to downtown you can also grab some food and head out for a picnic.

Next, is the Mount Bonnell. If you’re looking for a good Instagrammable spot or even just some really pretty views, Mount Bonnell has both. Mount Bonnell overlooks the Colorado River and is also perfect for a picnic or post for your insta. Although the trails here don’t spam very far it’s still worth the views.

Lastly, for some top trails in Austin is McKinney Falls. McKinney Falls is located in southeast Austin and is a beautiful state park. These trails have a little more to offer then the second two. Being a state park people are allowed to camp and bring their RVs. Not only can you stay awhile but you can also fish and go for a swim.

In the end, any parks and trails you find in Austin will for sure be worth the walk. From a couple of hour long walks to overnight stays you should be sure to get your nature worth.
